Caleb Ewan wins New South Wales Cycling Grand Prix

Caleb Ewan has taken out the 2013 NSW International Grand Prix criterium cycling series in Sydney’s south.

Caleb Ewan won the opening leg on Saturday in a fast finish, beating local favourite Chris Sutton to take round one of the NSW Grand Prix. An exciting race with several breakaways, it was Ewan in a sprint finish to edge out Sutton on the line.

On the Sunday Caleb had to settle for runner up behind Jack Beckinsale of the Huon Salmon Genesys team, however it was enough to clinch the overall series win with a three point buffer over Beckinsale.

The win sends a strong message of intent with the Tour Downunder fast approaching. Ewan will take the next step up in the new year, joining the World Tour ranks with Orica-Greenedge come January 1.
