CALEB SCORCHES THE SANTOS TOUR DOWN UNDER

Despite the presence of dual world champion Peter Sagan, the 2017 edition of the Santos Tour Down Under saw a race domination by Caleb Ewan, even with Richie Porte claiming the General Classification honours. Starting with an explosive victory in the opening People’s Choice Classic on the streets of Adelaide, Caleb proceeded to claim another four stage wins, demonstrating his exhilarating top end speed for the huge crowds in the process. His bookend victory in the final day Stage 6 in the Adelaide CBD was extremely popular with the fans and is fast becoming a stage synonymous with Caleb at the event.

At the age of just 22 Caleb now has six Tour Down Under stage wins and has triumphed in the last two People’s Choice Classics and it’s a safe assumption these are numbers that are going to increase in the years ahead.
