Caleb added a second Grand Tour stage victory to his palmares, after a stellar victory at the Vuelta Espana last year. It was a victory that did not come easy for the Australian however, with the opening week of the Giro becoming a true test of Caleb’s resilience, determination and grit. Dealing with frustration and disappointment, Caleb kept his focus and continued to fight on for stage honours. It was then, on the stage into Alberobello, with immense pressure on his shoulders, Caleb showed his fighting character and lightening quick speed winning a dramatic sprint ahead of Fernando Gaviria and Sam Bennett.
The result was yet another step towards solidifying his position amongst the top echelons of world cycling. With the potent mix of a sharp mental aptitude and his devastating speed on bike, we are sure you’ll see Caleb Ewan on the top step of the podium of a Grand Tour again soon.
