First time in two decades Cadel returns for an Australian winter

For the first time in 22 years, Cadel Evans was treated to a chilly Australian winter, returning home during July for two busy weeks of commitments including the launch of his race.

Cadel was front and centre in Geelong at the launch for the 2016 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, and announced he’ll ride the Momentum Energy People’s Ride!

Everyone at Signature Sport are also really excited to see the UCI agree in principle to upgrade the category of the elite men’s race to a UCI 1.HC.

Cadel was kept busy during his time in Melbourne, attending various commitments for Medibank, a Breakfast with EY, a lunch with VIC Health and dinners for Paradice Investment Management and Carsales.

Cadel also had the pleasure of attending the Harvey Norman owners and franchisee conference, where he was the key note speaker and wowed the crowd with some really great anecdotal stories about his transition into retirement.

After making his way to Adelaide, Cadel joined some fortunate Siemens VIP’s for a ride during the official opening of their state of the art Service Centre in Tonsley.

Another day another city, with Cadel flying to Sydney to film an in depth one-on-one interview with the legendary Bruce McAvaney, which lasted four hours!

Rounding out the whirlwind trip to Australia, Cadel returned to his old high school to official launch a science week competition which gives students an opportunity to learn about alternative power by generating power by pedaling a bike – Siemens #FutuRide.
