INSPIRED BY THE PRESTIGIOUS SPRING CLASSICS OF EUROPE, THE CADEL EVANS GREAT OCEAN ROAD RACE HAS QUICKLY BECOME AUSTRALIA’S GREATEST SHOWCASE OF CYCLING.

This elite, one day race format delivers high excitement, intense competition and above all, unpredictability. The tradition of the Spring Classics of Europe is one of drama-filled spectacle, with hundreds of thousands of locals and international fans joining in the festival atmosphere, something we aspire to achieve with the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.

Signature Sport, working closely with the Victorian Government, had the original vision to create the greatest weekend of cycling Australia has ever seen; one that would draw tens of thousands of people to Geelong and the magnificent Surf Coast, and celebrate Cadel Evans’ unique contribution to Australian sporting and culture folklore. That vision has been achieved, and along the journey Signature Sport is proud to have played an integral role in securing Union Cyclisite Internationale (UCI) WorldTour status for the Men’s Elite Race (after just two stagings), UCI 1.1 sanctioning for the Elite Women’s Race, and live national broadcast for both the Men’s and Women’s Races on the Seven Network.

Signature Sport has secured an impressive stable of blue chip corporate partners to be part of this journey, by creating a unique set of partnership assets and bringing together some of Australia’s best known brands to be part of a unique event. The event now encompasses Towards Zero Race Melbourne, the Family & Kids Ride and the Swisse People’s Ride, allowing more people to become engaged with cycling in a variety of ways: a clear goal of Cadel and Signature Sport since the event’s inception in 2015.
